The Kerala High Court on 5th June, 2025 held that the drawer of the cheque needs to provide satisfactory and convincing evidence to show that the address shown is not his address. The drawer cannot frustrate the legal process by not receiving the notice or by shifting residences without informing the complainant. The case is Bastin P C V/s George [ CRL.REV.PET NO. 540 OF 2018] reported in 2025 2025 KLT OnLine 2117. Copy of the Judgement can be downloaded from here.
